Question / Help Best settings for LOCAL RECORDINGS?

Hi!

I recently started a YouTube channel and I noticed that even though I'm using ridiculously high bit rate settings, my video always ends up looking terrible on YouTube.

Could someone give me some clear answers on this? Keep in mind it's just recording, not streaming.

So:

x264 or NVENC?

If x264:
- Which Rate control setting?
- Number to use for bitrate?
- Enable custom buffer size or not? And if so, what settings to use?
- Which CPU preset, profile and tune?

If NVENC:
- Which Rate Control setting?
- Number to use for bitrate?
- Which preset, profile and level?
- Enable 2 pass encoding?
- What to enter in "gpu" and "b-frames?

Here are my specs:

GTX 1060 6GB
i7-6700 @ 3.41GHz
16GB RAM
I have both an SSD and HDD available to me for writing the footage

I'm honestly just looking for a clear and simple answer, because I'm starting to get slightly annoyed. I've been messing around with the settings for so long but I can't get the videos to look any good.
If it's any help, here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytykkQO4KAU
It really doesn't look good imo but maybe I'm just paranoid.

Thanks :)

PS: I've included a log file but I've been using different settings for all my different videos, so this may not be the log file from the video I linked.

Youtube makes it look like garbage, this is well known.

Does the file you recorded look like that?
