So currently with some quick testing if I give OBS 7 cores/14 threads with these settings:
CRF: 14
CPU:Ultrafast
Which gives me an output like this, which is pretty alright, but there are some compression artifacts, and in some areas the footage is just unusable but that's rare. near 100% usage on those CPU cores as well.

Someone suggested I try using custom settings as well.

Output Mode: Advanced
Type: Custom Output (FFmpeg)
Container Format: mov
Muxer Settings: bufsize=220000
Video Bitrate: 220000
Keyframe Interval: 1
Video Encoder: libx264
Video Encoder Settings: profile=high preset=superfast force-cfr tune=fastdecode psy=0
Audio bitrate: 2304
Audio Encoder: pcm_s24be
Which I tried, the footage I got out of it using 6 cores/12 threads looks alright, but has frame skipping seems like. about 80% usage on those cores
Basically does anyone know what the best settings would be to get as close to native quality 4K as I can with an R7 1700?
Is there a resource somewhere to learn about all the advanced custom settings and stuff?
I kind of want to buy a 1950X anyways just for the hell of it, but saving $1500 would be nice, probably just need to get those extra cores though. Thanks.
