2. The issue with ANY laptop tends to be thermal throttling. And then there is the specifics of the CPU as U models (ultra-low power for long battery life) are ill-suited to computationally demanding workloads like real-time video encoding. Now, sometimes encoding can be offloaded to GPU, but you MUST be careful with settings
- and I strongly recommend learning how to monitor and identify thermal throttling in your system
And then there is the typical Operating System optimizations for an under-powered system... and the details vary by person/system. There are MANY threads on optimization for under-powered computers in this forum
Basically - clean boot; learn, then make sure only truly necessary background processes running... disable stupid MS auto-start stuff consuming resources better used for streaming.
Then, make sure OBS Studio settings are appropriate for your system (ie don't run 60fps if you don't need it). Lots of YouTube videos on 'optimal' settings do NOT explicitly cover the hardware resource impact of their suggestions... effectively requiring you to have a solid baseline understanding of hardware resource utilization (CPU, GPU, RAM Disk I/O, etc), how vary processes impact that utilization, and then how settings changes impact utilization, then making sure you have enough buffer room for the inevitable unforeseen process spike to NOT negatively impact your stream/recording. ie, don't shoot for 90-95% utilization... that will inevitably lead to failure..
