I just turned 20 February 5th and prior to that, I was having issues with my in-game League of Legends ping fluctuating while streaming. I have 2mbit upload and even streaming at 1000kb/s, my in-game ping would fluctuate quite a bit which affected my performance. This occurred less dramatically with xsplit so I started using that.
Come February 5th, I notice an update for OBS and install it and see this added option "* Added "low latency mode" ". I'm skeptical at first and I really thought it was an issue with my ISP throttling or shaping my upload. This option fixed EVERYTHING. I can now even stream 45fps 720p at 1500kb/s bitrate which can spike up to 2mbit bitrate and STILL no lag.
Thank you so much for this option. I was having trouble all week trying to find a solution. I tried installing netbalancer to set priority for upload to my game (even though it only needs 10-15KB/s but all this did was either make my stream drop frames or make my game lag (couldn't find a balance).
THANK YOU
