Hey Everyone,
New streamer here and have been waiting for this day to come for a long time haha. Finally got a 10mbps upload and decent computer.
Anyway I have been messing around and testing a lot over the past couple of days. I recently found out I can stream 720 60fps on Planetside 2 with no issues on the stream. Just affects my in game performance slightly. I figured if I could do that with PS2 why not BF4 right? Well according to OBS when I try to stream BF4 it is skipping many frames.
I have included 2 logs. The first one is from my streaming of Planetside 2 at 30FPS then later in the log when I upped it to 60.
The second is my brief attempt to stream 720p 60FPS with Battlefield at which point my computer or OBS did not want anything to do with it.
The point? I am trying to figure out if it is the GPU or CPU that is holding me back. I have the ability to upgrade soon and I have gotten both answers from various sources. Some say CPU and some say GPU. I will be upgrading my GPU anyway if the CPU is not the issue but I would rather upgrade the CPU if it needs to be upgraded to accommodate this.
P.S The second log does not look right to me compared to the first one. I am not too sure if the Battlefield 4 stream is at the end of the first log or if it is in the second. Worse comes to worse I can stream again tomorrow to recreate the issue and repost a new log.
