Question / Help Bad Quality & Desync (What's the best settings to use?)

I'm attempting to begin a web series that will require simultaneous recording of my screen, my microphone, and the audio. So far, the audio from my mic and my browser are fine, but the syncing of audio and video, and the overall video quality, are being destroyed.

This is an example of something I recorded using Open Broadcast recently.

For reference, these are my current settings,

Also for reference, here is my PC specs, http://pcpartpicker.com/list/nHj7f7

So, what am I doing wrong, and what should I be doing? I have never used Open Broadcast or any other screen capture software before this, so I have 0 idea of what I'm doing.

I'm not sure why you have a global audio sync offset in your advanced settings. Change that to 0, and maybe that will work?

You're trying to record 1080@60 video on 3000kbps. It's going to look terrible.

If you are NOT livestreaming, follow this guide instead:
https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/how-to-make-high-quality-local-recordings.16/

Follow ALL the steps. Your CPU may be a limiting factor as well; AMD are generally not the best for real-time video encoding, but if you are just locally recording the guide above will let you throw a mountain of bitrate at the problem to work around it.

Also, just post a logfile next time. It contains all of your settings and more information like detailed system specs, there's no need at all for screenshots.

Thank you both. I was following a guide on YT that was something like "Open Broadcast Best 1080p Settings"

Maybe it was for streaming? I don't really know.

Global Audio time adjust: 1400
1.4 seconds, yep. Clear that out and set it to zero.

Also, don't use MP3 audio. AAC is much, much higher quality at the same bitrate. MP3 is there as a fallback method, and is not advised.

The global audio time is set for 1.4 settings, but not checked. That wouldn't affect anything.

Audio is still desynced. Would it help anyone to know that when I start recording the audio is desycned live, not just in the recording? And whenever I stop recording, videos speed up to catch up with the audio?

What are you talking about, 'checked'? Global Adjust isn't switched on or off with a checkbox, it's a baseline value. It is definitely what is causing your problem. Set it to zero.
