Question / Help Bad audio

Hello everyone, this is the Netherlands calling. I am new to OBS but this is my problem.
I've set obs up to record a monitor/frame using several manuals. Everything seems to be working OK but somehow the audio sounds like the guy is talking into a iron bucket. I've checked all my settings, several times, but everything seems to be set OK. I've tried different sources but the result stay's the same.

I've used OBS a couple of months ago and I didn't have that problem then. When I use snagit (which I don't really like) the audio is fine. I've turned the mic-recording off by the way, only recording the audio from the movie I am trying to record.

Does anyone have any idea where to look or what to do?

Thanks in advance :)

Make sure you have a headset microphone (if used) set as default device in windows recording devices and also make sure the same microphone is the default in any software used ie. OBS, Skype etc.

I say this as a webcam microphone can sometimes take over as default so all voice it picked up by this.

If no webcam installed then I will see if I can come up with something else.

Thanks for your response Stuart. I had nothing attached to my PC (webcam/headset/mic-wise) I did however change the settings to what you said. The good news is that I now have 'normal' sound when I'm recording, but the bad news is, I have to turn of the speakers in OBS main windows off and the Mic ON??? The recording sound is influenced by the volume of my PC. When I lower the volume of my PC, the recording volume goes down also. I did not have that before. It is also not handy because now I have to leave the volume on my PC pretty high in order to get a good recording volume which is annoying to the others in my house :)
