We're trying to run an axis camera feed from our network, via OBS run on our server (Windows Server 2012 R2) and out to an external host. (DaCast)

We're using Axis Streaming Assistant to catch the feed from the network. Its showing up nicely in the interface, and is set as default stream. There is only one stream.

In OBS, when setting up sources, i select Video Capture Device, and it automatically gets colorbars with the "Service Error" message instead of a video feed.

This is before im starting the stream (Which works fine as far as i can tell.)
This is exclusively an issue between ASA and OBS, and im stumped. The video settings on the camera should match both ASA and OBS's settings, but im not 100% on this. Looking over it seems fine.

Any help is appreciated. I cant find anyone else with this problem online so im quite stumped.

The error picture is created by the ASA, so the connection between OBS and ASA works in general. ASA is sending a technically valid stream (which consists of frames with this colored picture with that message), which OBS does display. If OBS were not able to get a stream from ASA in the first place, it would simply display nothing (black screen).
Your task is to figure out why ASA is streaming this error message instead of relaying the camera video. Maybe you requested video properties in OBS the camera is not able to conform to (resolution, fps, video format, color range, color space, etc). Try variations of these settings, one of these might not match between the camera output and the setting in OBS.
