Had this posted in Suggestions on one of my other posts about the avertv hd dvr but i felt it was in the wrong section for this type of question?

Should I uninstall the AP? and just install the driver by itself? I'm having issues setting the FPS to 30... When i set the FPS to 30 and hit apply it reverts back to 50 or 59.94... The reason i ask is no matter what settings ive been using over the past couple months i get a grainy/blotchy result... Right now my settings are as follows:

Settings I used lastnight:
Bitrate: 1900
Buffer: 1980-2000
Preset: Faster
Quality: 10
FPS: 50
Server: LA Secondary
ACC: 96
Stream Recording: http://www.twitch.tv/thesr5/b/372431625

Settings use prior:
Bitrate: 1900
Buffer: 1900
Preset: veryfast
Quality: 7
FPS: 50
Server: LA Secondary
ACC: 96
Stream Recording: http://www.twitch.tv/thesr5/b/371388845

System:
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-990FX-UD3
Processor: AMD 8120 (OC 4.0GHz)
RAM: 8GB 1866ghz
GFX: ATI HD6850
CapCard: AverTV HD DVR

I've tried all assortments of settings... these are the two that look the BEST so far... but something still just doesn't seem right to me... I feel as if its an FPS issue. Any advise at this point would be helpful.

Installing the AP or not typically doesn't make a difference, but like... the capture card drivers will always attempt to set the frame rate to whatever frame rate the input source is, which is typically either 50/59.94 (PAL/NTSC progressive scan) or 25/29.97 (PAL/NTSC interlaced), I don't believe DirectShow can be made to output exactly 30 frames per second.

If you are getting an uneven stream, it might be because you're trying to stream a PAL source at 30 frames per second, these should be streamed at 25 if 50 is not possible. As for the grainy/blotchy result, I'm not quite sure what you mean, your XSplit stream looked pretty much fine to me, you won't get much better quality out of 2000/2000.

Also, sound input for the capture card should work fine, I have the European model of this capture card, and it does pick the right sound input source here, at least.

Very odd... (im guessing you saw my other post in the suggestions section) where i had my xsplit recording set up. Im pretty sure that i have it set to 50FPS NTSC, The two links i have above were both recorded using OBS here is a friend of mines stream using

Bitrate: 1900
Buffer: 2000
Preset: Faster
Quality: 10
FPS: 30
Server: LA Secondary
AAC: 126
Stream Recording: http://www.twitch.tv/positiventropy/b/372364129

Where i see the biggest difference in quality is around the text.. on mine the text seems to blotch up (well the entire screen does) but you notice it more if your looking at the text (kill feed or scores)

Maybe im looking for perfection that just doesn't exist, i don't know but i can tell a difference between my stream quality and his.

Well, his stream IS 30 frames per second, rather than 50, individual frame quality is almost always higher at lower frame rates. Also, you'll get some uneven video frames if you run an NTSC game at 50 frames per second, NTSC material is best presented at either 30 or 60 frames per second when it comes to streaming.

Well... just stream at 30 frames per second?

OBS will grab frames from the card at 30 frames per second, no matter what the card is presenting the source at, and even if you could set the capture card source to 30 FPS, it would most likely be the exact same result as leaving it at 59.94 and streaming at 30 with OBS.

so i think ive hit my cap... Ive tried endlessly to get clean clear motion scenes and just cant get it... right now im running

Bitrate: 2150
Buffer: 2150
Preset: Veryfast
Quality: 7
FPS: 30
Server: LA Secondary
AAC: 128
Stream Recording: (the recording looks cleaner then the actual stream) http://www.twitch.tv/thesr5/b/373079260

I think im limited to my upload speed. If i were to get on the horn and ask for a better upload speed what would you suggest.
