Would I beable to change codecs to use my advermedia live gamer HD to encode?

If so how would I go about doing already, I've looked and can't find a way to do it if it's possible.

No. As for now, built in encoders are useless in OBS and you have to use DirectShow output to be able to capture them. It's been discussed already.
