Question / Help Avermedia Live Stream Engine?

So I just wanted to get a little bit of clarification on this whole Live Stream Engine that I can use in conjunction with my Live Gamer HD.

When I use OBS i don't use the Live Stream Engine Source... I just use the normal Live Gamer HD source.

Am I correct in assuming that using the Live Stream Engine as a source will free up more cpu for the final x264 output to twitch? I'm assuming the that engine in the card itself does the encoding for the gameplay... Is that correct?

After a quick test it does seem like using this engine does free up cpu... I was able to use a much slower preset than normal. So can anyone confirm this?

Also... if I'm using the stream engine... do I set the Engine's bitrate to the same bitrate that I will be streaming in OBS? example StreamEngine settings are 1280x720p60@2000kbps... I'm streaming in OBS at 1280x720p60@2000kbps video and 128audio totaling around 2200peak bitrate using the medium preset. Using these settings looks great and performs way better than expected. Although if i increase the StreamEngines bitrate to lets say 15000kbps... will the resulting bitrate conflict with the OBS settings?

Is that the hardware encoder on the ALG HD? You can't use it with OBS, just RecCentral. And its quality per bitrate is horrible, so its only really good for saving to disk at a high bitrate.
