AverMedia Live Gamer HD2 capture freezes when starting discord

Hi,

I just got an AVM Live Gamer HD2, got it added to OBS just fine as a video capture device, but as soon as I start discord, the capture just freezes.
If I then go into the properties of the video capture device in OBS, its all highlighted in red and the AVM is greyed out in device selection (attached screenshot).
If I try to add a new video capture device, it doesn't even show up in the list there.

The only way to bring back the capture is to reboot the whole system and then NEVER start discord.
I've tried messing with the video settings in discord, but no change.
If discord was even started once, the capture will be broken and I have to reboot.

Any ideas on how to fix this?
I already have the latest firmware (which is still pretty old).
And there are no drivers to install for Windows 10.
Running OBS 30.0, Windows 10 22H2

Just in case somebody else runs into the same problem.
It wasn't just discord, it was also happening when starting nvidia broadcast.

The issue was with Windows 10's Privacy -> Camera settings.
I only had it partially turned on / allowed, which somhow made OBS able to use it, but crashed as soon as other programs tried to access it.

I had to enable all the settings in there (can still disable individual apps) and it stopped crashing.

Windows' permissions are a recent addition, so I'm not surprised to see that it still has bugs in it. Good info.
