Avermedia Live Gamer 4K and OBS cause system process to eat up CPU?

I've been trying to record gameplay from my Live Gamer 4K to make videos but any time I use it in OBS, system (ntoskrnl.exe) process usage spikes up to over 50%. OBS is not using these resources, it is this specific process. If I disable the capture card and reboot then open OBS, no issues. Once the card is on, the computer eats up my CPU. I used process explorer to see the threads in ntoskrnl.exe and AVXGC573_x64.sys is coming up in red.

Alternatively, and I prefer not to use this, but REcentral does not have this issue and even records fine.

Any ideas?
