Hey guys,

I'm new to OBS Studio. And I found out I can choice my Liver Gamer HD as Encoder.

But If im trying to record something it happens nothing.
I'm not sure if its even supported in this version of OBS Studio.

If not, will be there a support for the future?

Sincerely,
TrueTFZ

Someone make it clear please: it means in the future obs mp versions will be possible select external capture card as encoder instead of cpu?

With the Avermedia encoder, you are restricted to either using the encoder or using the capture part of the card. It's a limitation of the card. If you're capturing from the card, using the encoder won't work.

So, what's a point of this feature then?

Ask Avermedia first. OBS Studio uses standard methods to access to encoders. Even if interface has dummy input or controls, OBS will never exclude such source from the list. HW makers may release new, more "elite" product, look for news announcements.

So how do I start encoding with it? I plugged hdmi off it, and now it's connected only to PCI-e. Still won't save the video.

http://pastebin.com/1hDLgh1v - tried to stream with it. 0kbit/s upload. Crash log of when I stopped.

I've no idea how to make this thing work...

first, setup fps no more than 30, then ask him: AVerMedia hardware encoder support?

second, don't close OBS Studio after you click stop button, then upload the log. Log-file with recording attempt, please...
I've already seen this thread, it didn't really help me with anything. The last response was "don't use that"...

Here's me trying to make it work once again with suggested settings. But I'll try asking in this thread as well.

Set fps 15

Edit: also update OBS Studio to 0.13.2
your last log says that you are using 60 fps.

Yes, you need to start recording with it, then start streaming. Streaming will not work unless you have started recording before with the very same encoder

AVerMedia H.264 Encoder (c985, Live Gamer HD) in 2019 someone I was able to record by the OBS because I'm having the same problem with the card I bought recently
