Question / Help AverMedia GameBroadcaster HD v. C985

Hello,

I was curious as to whether or not anyone knows which would be more efficient between these two capture cards. I tend not to trust the reviews on Amazon too much as most of the reviews on both cards are straight up: "card didn't work on arrival," or something along those lines.

Seeing that there are plenty of big streamers that use the C985, I doubt that it is really as bad as the reviews say it is. However, the GameBroadcaster HD is about $50 cheaper and from the looks of it, does the same thing. Is there anyone who has info on if the C985 is worth the extra money?

thanks.

The Game Broadcaster HD has HDMI and component input, no passthrough, and no internal downscaling. It outputs 4:2:2 color.

The Live Gamer HD is HDMI-only input, has passthrough, and internal downscaling (it can take a 1080p60 input and output a 720p60 signal). It outputs 4:2:0 color, so color reproduction will be worse.

Neither of them will help you in performance with a single-PC setup using OBS.

Ah. I will be using them for console streaming. Just was trying to figure out if one had better quality. Thanks.
