Hello.

So I found about Avermedia externl capture cards, they say they work with consoles and with PC too.
Their cards have HDMI, and they claim their products work with OBS.

Does anyone have any experience with them? Are they worth it? (in the means of relieving your pc from the actual recording and making you able to crank the settings in your games and still having HQ recordings)

I get a little confused about how these works and if they would work for me, I dont get it very clear from their site.
They say you need an extra monitor with most of their products...

I want to record the game, add a webcam, and record my voice using a usb mic that I have(its not a headset)

ExtremeCap U3 and Live Gamer Portable currently work with OBS through the stream engine as far as I am informed. The LGPLite misses stream engine support.
But none of them can record HDCP content, so using them with a ps3/xbone/ps4 will need a hdcp stripper in many cases.
There is also no real benefit in using them to free up CPU power. You simply use them similar to a Window Capture or Game Capture and add them as a source to OBS. So OBS still has to do all the work. Except for the console capture, for which you need a capture card of course, it can even be better to use a Window/Monitor or Game Capture, but that depends on your system etc.
Last but not least some capture cards include an internal encoder, the LGP needs it to send 1080p30fps footage over the old USB2.0 port, so I dont think you can use it to encode while recording. But in general these encoders are meant to do local recordings at very high bitrates to give you a good quality. So they cannot be used for streaming and their encoders often cannot be used in third party software (like OBS) which means, you would have to use their Software.
So unless you want to capture consoles, maybe forget about capture cards, or build a 2 pc setup =)

Hey Jack0r, thanks.:)

For the moment I just wanna record and upload to youtube. Everything looks fluid in game, but in some part of the videos there seems to be some sort of lag that last about a second.

As i dont have consoles to record, there are not really worth buying in mi case it seems
