Avermedia Capture Card Audio not working

Hello,

Recently switched full time to Linux. I use EndeavourOS (everything is up to date) and use the flatpack version of OBS (I usually prefer installing apps via CLI but that's fine) as I understood there was a maintenance mess with Fedora users and that the flatpack is managed by the OBS Team.

I also need browsers to work for chat and notifications...

I use an Avermedia Live Gamer Mini to record Switch footage. The video side of things works, however, it doesn't add audio automatically. Decided to add an input that would have the capture card, however it shows as mute, no audio comes through the audio mixer.

Wanted to know if there's a fix or a plugin that may work for that situation.

I should also add I did one stream with a terminal-installed version of OBS, and then it recorded natively the audio...

Would it be easier to install back with the terminal or would a plugin do?

Thank you!

If you're not entrenched yet, I'd recommend Ubuntu Studio instead:
It's designed specifically for live media and other creative stuff, and has a TON of apps preinstalled and already working, just for that. OBS is one of them.

Can't comment on the capture card though. I had an AverMedia HDMI -> USB card that refused to work on UStudio 22.04, but worked perfectly on Windows, so I donated it to a church that runs their stream on Windows. Your card on 24.04 (latest LTS) might be different from mine on 22.04, but even if not, I still recommend UStudio for live media.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to use a separate OS (especially Ubuntu related) to stream.

Basically, if there are any ways to display a live chat (Twitch for my case) that don't involve OBS' browser, then I guess it is fine...

It's not like needed, it's more so appreciated from an archival perspective.

UPDATE: SOLVED

After testing I realised it was a capture card problem... Folks, remember, try to plug and unplug stuff. It's the most likely culprit.

Sorry for bothering.
