Question / Help Avermedia Cap Card + Single PC Gaming/Streaming build

I understand a capture card like the Avermedia Live gamer HD apparently doesn't help in a single Pc setup , but does in a dual PC setup for gaming and streaming.

I have also been told that although it doesn't benefit the single PC build greatly it does help by capturing the video for OBS and can take that load off the cpu which helps the overall ability of the cpu to handle Gaming and stream processing.

So , my question is how much load would be on a cpu like a 4790k if it was capturing the video and not using the video provided from an internal Cap card. Is the load significant enough a cap card in a single PC is still compelling or benefits are so low its hardly worth considering.

The ressource usage by the capture card will be higher than using OBS's implemented capture features. You also cannot reduce the CPU load with such a card in OBS. As mentioned, it will probably be slightly higher.
The only real reason to use a capture card in a one PC setup, apart of the usual Console streaming, recording Camera output or similar, would be a game that can only run in fullscreen mode and has problems with gamecapture OR problems with being captured because of its anti cheat software.
