Question / Help AVerMedia C875 Troubles

Hello all,

Thank you very much for reading my post. I am having a problem with my AVerMedia C875, and I have searched just about everywhere for a solution to my problem. Please forgive me if I have overlooked something...

When I first got my capture card last night I instantly installed the drivers. I ended up getting a red screen on OBS so I got the LGP Stream Engine from their website, and I added it to OBS as a "Video Capture Device", but this also doesn't do anything. I end up getting a black screen with nothing on it. When I load up the AVerMedia software I can see the video for my PS3 so I'm not really sure what is wrong. If I try to double click on the source to change the settings OBS ends up crashing while I am doing the preview function as well. I'm pretty sure this is something to do with the LGP Stream Engine software because I attempted to do the same thing in the trial version of XSplit only to get the same results. Do I need to download a special OBS plugin or something?

Also, please let me know how you guys stream with a capture card. Do you all use the HDMI Out to play with your TV? Is there a good way to play using your computer?

Thank you all for checking my post. I'm hoping to get this fixed soon...

No, the live gamer portable should work with the stream engine, people use it all the time without issues as long as they use the stream engine. That definitely sounds strange, especially if you have the lastest driver. I think the fact that both have the same thing happen should be an indicator. Perhaps firmware? Not entirely sure.

I don't have that capture device but I have seen other posts on this issue. My understanding is you have to use 32-bit OBS and, also, it has helped others to turn off their Skype and/or webcam software. Could any of these be the issue?

I had the same problem. Avermedia has HORRIBLE customer service, and they haven't updated their drivers for window 8.1

I had to go and sift through for many hours their list of drivers and find an older one that I was able to use.

I'm sorry, I don't have the link to which one it was, but I promise you that a solution exists, just search their older drivers for one that might work.

Yea, to use the stream engine you do have to use the 32bit version. I apologize, I completely forgot about that fact. Not entirely sure about it otherwise though.

I run OBS 32-bit with administrator privileges; however, I still have the same result every time. I will try to find an older version of the drivers and report back to you guys. Thanks.

I just wanted to give you guys an update. When I add the LGP stream to OBS, nothing happens; however, if I open RECentral > Stream > Wizard and toy around with the tabs, I can get my PS3 screen to load. The only problem with this is that it freezes like 3 seconds after it shows up (the PS3 screen, not OBS).

To me, it seems like RECentral and LGP are having compatibility issues. Does anyone have advice or a workaround for this?

So I've had FOUR different AVerMedia cards, I think the C127 is one of the best capture cards ever made. That being said, the LGP C875 is probably the worst card they have ever produced and I don't recommend it to ANYBODY who has a computer. Specifically because of all these random compatibility issues. If you need to record, without access to a computer, its great. But the moment you plug it in, it immediately brings up many issues. If you have a physical computer, you don't need a card like an LGP.

So i know this has been a thread for quite some time... But i recently had the same issue... The answer for me was to reset the Cache or whatever on my (xbox... i know this was originally a ps3 post... im just trying to help). The reason this did it for me was because i had been watching netflix (by no means trying to capture or stream it) and the xbox apparently recognized that and wouldn't send a signal to my stream engine. Though i could still use RECentral... Hope this helps!

Hi all. Little while since anybody has put something in here but I am stumped. I hope people are still reading these. I recently purhcased an Avermedia C875 capture card. A friend hep me set it up step by step, correctly. Now there is one last hurdle that is stopping me from streaming and that is a red screen. I've looked around Google for answers, I have done everything that I've been told (turn off Chrome, Spotify, Skype) uninstalled useless things and still nothing. I stream on OBS. Is there any hope for me?Or did I waste my money?

The red screen is a result of selecting the LGP in OBS while you should be selecting the Stream Engine.

I'll admit its a pain in the butt to use but I get mine to work.
