Hey guys, I've been usingh OBS to stream PC related games and things and it's been working out just fine. I recently bought a Avermedia capture care, the pcie kind that goes into your computer, and when I open up the software it comes with (RECentral) and begin to capture my Wii U input via HMDI I get a constant crackling sound from just my left side. I also get some random pixelation that's pretty subtle. The crackling carries over to any recordings or streams so before I call in and ask for a new unit I wanted to see if this was a fixable issue. I've tried different PCIE slots and different HDMI cables with the same effect.

Hi there. I have the same problem. I too have the Avermedia Game Broadcaster HD C127 PCI-E capture card. The clipping (or crackling, clicking, static or whatever it's called) appears to be a design defect in the C127 capture card. I've only tested with two cards from this model number, but I was able to reproduce the problem consistently on both cards. It occurs when capturing 1080p source material. If your device is set to 1080p and you are using HDMI to capture video and audio, I'm almost certain that the C127 introduces static noise. I tried both cards in two different computers, in two different PCI-E slots and two different source devices (Xbox 360 and Xbox One) and several different HDMI cables. Setting the source device to deliver a 720p signal showed no problems in audio or video. Changing the source to 1080p introduced the bothersome noise in both cards. Although possible, I find it highly unlikely that I have two defective cards (one purchased in 2013, the other purchased in 2015).

To get 1080p material, I run an S/PDIF cable out the Xbox One and into the digital input of the SoundBlaster-Z card in my PC. It's only two channel audio, but it's better than the clicking noise. I'm not happy with my findings, but I can live with the workaround.
