My friend recently purchased an Avermedia AverTV USB HD DVR C874 to stream with OBS. Right now he's waiting for his 360 component cable to come in so he can record in HD, but at the moment he's going to try and use his composite cable. When trying to add it to OBS, it comes out as just a red screen. He's also tried adding it to AmarecTV and Virtualdub, neither of them working either. The only program that receives anything is ArcSoft Total Media Extreme. Any help with resolving this issue would be appreciated. :)

You can check out this thread but I'm pretty sure that device encodes the video that it captures, which means that it will not yet work with OBS. Support for such devices is being worked on but don't expect it for a while.
