Question / Help Avermedia 1920x1080 question

Hey guys/girls - I have a couple of questions here hoping you may be able to help me out a little.

I currently have a dual PC setup - my streaming PC has a 1920x1080 monitor and my games are being streamed at 1280x720p

Is there any possible way I can capture at 1280x720p without needing to downscale from 1920x1080? I'm asking because I'm feeling like when it's capturing at 1080 and downscaling it to 1280 it's losing quality throughout the conversion process.

Tldr; am I losing quality by capturing at 1080 but downscaling it to 720p? If so - how can I make sure I capture 720 with my card?

The avermedia itself has its own built-in downscaling. You can set the avermedia to 1280x720 manually and then set your base stream resolution to 1280x720 and turn off OBS' downscaling and it should work fine. Not sure about the quality difference, you might have to do some comparisons.

Interesting! I'll give it a shot later tonight when I'm home and report back! Thanks a lot jim!

What Jim said is exactly the same as the way I run my dual-pc configuration. It gives pretty great quality, not as good as running the game natively in 720p but who really wants to do that?

Twitch.tv/panophobia_ if you want to see any vods.
