Automatic bitrate better in older version, should be the same for newer versions

Hello OBS team,

I’ve noticed that when a livestream ends and I go back to watch the playback, the video quality reflects every moment the internet signal dropped (when the indicator turned red or disconnected). This means the final recording shows all the poor quality segments, which makes the playback frustrating to watch.

In earlier versions, playback seemed cleaner even if the stream had issues. Right now, every signal loss is visible in the saved video, and I really dislike that. Could OBS improve how ended lives are stored, so the playback remains clean even if the internet connection was unstable during the stream?

Additionally, I’ve realized that the newer versions require manually selecting automatic bitrate adjustment and some other “TC” settings. To me, when these are selected, the dropped frames are actually worse if the internet connection is poor or pockets are low. In older versions, the automatic bitrate adjustment seemed to handle unstable connections better. I think restoring that behavior would make OBS much more reliable during weak internet conditions.

Thank you for considering this feedback.
