So my buddy and I run a board gaming Youtube channel, and we're looking to branch into streaming. I've streamed video games for a few years now, so I'm technically proficient, but streaming board games is a slightly different beast. I've seen a few streams that use multiple webcams, but all of them do a picture-in-picture setup, and I was hoping to do something a little more cinematic.
Basically, I'm wondering if there's anything that allows OBS to automatically switch scenes based on activity. Ideally, it would switch to the camera shooting the board as soon as anybody goes to move a piece, and switch back to the camera shooting the players when the board is idle. And preferably with something like a two-second delay between switches so there isn't incessant flickering between cams.
I know you can easily switch between scenes using hotkeys, but that would be difficult to do while playing and I don't want to have somebody dedicated to that job if possible. I know there's a scene switcher plugin that allows for timed switching, but I know that will miss catching some moves. So does something like this "auto-director" exist, or am I out of luck?
