Audience? Do you mean local in the studio? Or your stream viewers? Sometimes OBS does have a local audience, and the "streamer" effectively becomes a "shadowy tech guy".
At any rate, screenshot your settings please, and post here. You can claim anything and be wrong. What you don't post, might be part of the problem, as a setting you didn't know existed.
