Hello!
I may not understand the purpose of the audio sync offset and if my ignorance is the issue I would appreciate some assistance! I would like to use the microphone built into my webcam for audio recording. I have added a Video Capture Device scene to my stream and configured the video options. I have read other posts and checked the following:
1) I have gone to the Windows Recording Devices menu and ensured only the webcam microphone is enabled and it is also set to default
2) 'Listen to device' is not selected in the Windows Recording Devices menu
3) I do not have any webpages opened and am not previewing my stream online
4) In the Video Capture scene settings I have selected 'Output audio to stream only"
5) All audio output is being directed through my headset and there is no noise leakage
This is what I have found. I recorded a number of videos to my PC, and in them I periodically snapped my fingers. Before recording each video I set the Audio Sync Offset to a new value - 10 ms, 100 ms, 500 ms, 2000 ms. When these videos are played back I hear a snap which aligns with the video of my fingers and then after a time equal to the Audio Sync Offset I hear an echo snap.
As I said, I may not understand the purpose of this setting, but I don't understand why I'm hearing both snaps. If the audio is delayed why do I hear the snap aligned with the video?
Finally, what would be the best settings to use my built-in microphone for recording vocal audio?
