Audio streaming problems

Hi everyone, my church have problems when streaming audio. Specially as instrument come in, the audio starts to degrade.

Church replaced the mixing console to digital but the problem still persists. We’re using and Aux with the mix into a Focusrite Scarlet into a computer with OBS and then out to Facebook and YouTube.

When monitoring in the headphone output on the Scarlet everything sound just fine, but when listening to the streaming, it sounds horrible.

What the problem may be?

Here is an example:

The problem is way more obvious at 7:10 the instruments have like a phaser sound to it and very unnatural. It doesn’t sound like that out of the Focusrite.

Thank you in advance

Do you have a Noise Suppressor? Either as a filter in OBS, or on by default in Windows itself? Those are designed for spoken voice only, and anything else is considered noise to be removed. Any instruments you still hear are technically a failure of that algorithm.

If you don't have one in OBS, then you'll need to dig through Windows' settings and find where they buried it and what they called it. It's meant for business people and casual home users who don't understand acoustics or background noise, and just want their video calls to work. And to keep the more nosy of them from accidentally turning it off and then blaming Microsoft for breaking their computer, it's pretty well hidden. You need to find it, figure out what they called it, and turn it off, along with any other "enhancements" there might be.
