Driving me nuts right now.
I get a strange static from my mic (a little like a vinyl scratching noise maybe?) when I am streaming, and it seems to be worse if there is any volume coming from my desktop.
For example, in this short stream test (43 seconds long - https://go.twitch.tv/videos/200922701), I start the stream before I open PUBG - the static is there, but not mega noticeable. As soon as PUBG starts up the static ramps up and is clearly audible.
Did another 3 minute test here with a bit of gameplay - https://go.twitch.tv/videos/200923503
When I record locally with OBS, the static is barely noticeable - its only when I stream that it kicks in.
I do have a cheap mic (Neweer NW-800) but I checked out other streamers who had used it before I bought it, and they did not seem to have the same issue.
My filters are:
Noise Suppression - -60 (doesn't seem to make any difference on any setting unless I go under -25, in which case I get a lot of "white noise" static)
Noise Gate - Close -53 / Open -48
Gain - 10
I also do have a +10% boost on the mic in windows properties which I know may cause a little static, but if I do not do this my friends complain that they cannot hear me in Discord, even if I am at 200% volume on their settings.
Right now I'm just a little stumped as to why I get this static when opening the game or have game sounds going on.
Would really like to get into streaming a little more, but reluctant to do so if I cant ensure that the audio is on point, so any help will be greatly appreciated.
