Hello, I appreciate all the help of those smarter than me. I have this weird audio issue where I am getting terrible popping and static mixed in with the game audio.
Firstly I am using a Samsung S8 to play mobile games through a capture card to my PC to record the video and post to youtube, so I use a type c to HDMI converter to a capture card and then via USB 3.0 cale to the computer. There is no streaming involved just recording. I have swapped out all cables and verified it is not a cable issue.
When I set up the video side of the game I was never able to get audio to work from the HDMI out / Capture Card. So I ran a 3.5 mm audio out from my phone and set it up as a separate audio in. Once I plug in the video and the audio I get the terrible static. If I unplug the video / HDMI cable the static goes away and I can hear the game audio just fine. If I leave the video in and plug headphones directly into the phone there is also no static. only when I send the audio through the computer does it give the static.
Headphone cable is a TRS and so is the 3.5mm male to male line I am using to connect the phone to the computer.
So either How do I the audio to work from just the HDMI set up? or what are some thoughts on why having the video and audio hooked up at the same time causes static? Thanks
