I tried forum searching and viewing many other topics but haven't found a solution yet.
I am using my PC to stream to twitch through OBS. I have set up audio so my headphones are my speakers and I have a desktop mic being used for audio recording of my voice. All of the sound being captured by OBS, is being played back through OBS, causing an infinite audio loop that progressively gets worse.
I am not watching my own stream through the internet browser on the same PC, I am viewing it on a laptop with the sound muted so it doesn't get picked up by the desktop mic.
I have a webcam that DOES have a microphone, that is disabled. So that shouldn't be an issue, but it wouldn't be picking up any sound from the game in the first place anyways.
The only thing I could find was to turn off the preview mode on OBS while streaming, but the audio issue still occurs. (Right click on the stream in obs -> turn off "enable view").
If I mute the audio on the microphone or the speakers on the OBS control panel, obviously the sound from either source stops, but then the stream itself has no sound and there is no point to streaming muted.
So my question is how do I get OBS to stop replaying the sound it is streaming? I don't need to hear my own microphone and I can hear the game audio just fine when I'm playing it.
