Audio problems

I cannot get my mic on my headset to work as a mic for streaming, I have googled around and everything tells me to do some minor things to fix it which I do I bought an audio splitter and everything I have a wired headset it’s a turtle beach recon 2 gen 2 and I know it’s not meant for pc but everything says it should still work I want to figure out how to make it work cause I don’t want to spend 70 dollars on a new headset

Turtle Beach website says compatible with "Laptops and PCs equipped with a 3.5 mm combo jack (one jack for Audio and Microphone purposes). If you have a laptop or PC that has separate jacks for Audio and Microphone purposes, you would need an additional cable known as a PC splitter cable."

Does your computer have a combo jack, or separate headphone and audio jacks?
