Question / Help Audio Problems with Sony Vegas

Hello,

My problem is that when I record, it records fine, but when I insert the video into Sony Vegas Pro 12, it doesn't show any audio and just the media. There is no sound either.

You could extract the audio track using something like ffmpeg or audacity and then import it into vegas separately.

Vegas and Premiere have problems with mp4s recorded by OBS for some reason.

How exactly would I extract it? I'm normally used to just recording and throwing it into SVP, so apologies if I sound a bit "noobish" :P

with audacity it's fairly straightforward since you can just open the mp4 with audacity then export the audio that way (don't use mp3 to export, you will lose quality)

ffmpeg is a command-line utility and requires some other voodoo.

Try saving your recording to flv or mkv (mkv if you need multiple audio tracks) then remux later.

There's a lot of complicated procedures you can go through to do this.

I installed the LAME MP3 export Library and the FFmpeg Import/Export Library as well. (Fixed)

I still recommend saving to mkv instead of mp4 when dealing with multiple audio tracks.

There's a big process I go through personally when dealing with my recording. I don't get that error when using audacity on my audio files, but I extract each audio track manually with ffmpeg when using multiple audio track recording.

You should be able to choose one of those two audio tracks to import.

Again, I use a longer process because I have access to additional machines to do the steps that work better on linux.

I had the same issue and have this issue whenever I format my computer and I remember doing this in the folders for Vegas and it working everytime
