Question / Help audio problem with game and computer (solved)

so i tried messing with my setting on computer and in game but it seems i can only do one at a time never works for both
my ingame mic works just fine but no game sound
i know this is a common mistake for most people but not sure what to do
i am using sony pulse elite it uses usb or wireless or jack
also been messing with d3 audio
so i am not sure which one to fix

It says your mic is not plugged in.

As for your desktop audio, go in to advanced, and turn off "use input device for desktop audio". How did it get turned on? It should not be on.

I have a similar issue but when I turn off use input device it just auto turns back on over and over and can never get it to save.

@skunkodor, make sure no preview is running, change it, apply, click ok, and check the settings again, is it really still active?
In that case browse to %Appdata%\OBS and cut out all files there, put them in a backup folder temporarily. Now start OBS again, you should have a fresh setup without any settings made. See if the option is now deactivated, then I would just recreate your settings and scenes OR you check all file permissions in your backup folder, make sure everything is writable, and put them back into your %Appdata%\OBS folder to see if it now works as well.
