I've been streaming for a few months now but have noticed that the audio is out on my streams when i watch them back, i've searched the posts on here and tried a few settings but i just seem to be making it worse.

I'm using the original elgato HD
Ver 0.657b OBS
lenovo laptop using integrated camera
blue yeti USB mic plugged into the rear of the laptops dock

my camera sync ie when i speak my lips are in sync with the sound. But when i'm streaming retro games the video / sound is off. I would say by around 1-2 seconds

that should be the lastest log file

Hopefully someone can help, seems that everyone has moved onto the newer '60' version

thanks

Yes, USB 2.0 capture devices will have a significant capture delay. The Elgato is well known for having around a 2-second cap latency. Your game's audio and video are in-sync, just about 2 seconds after what you see on your TV or other direct feed.

You can add a buffer time to your webcam source and microphone offset (Settings->Audio->Mic Sync Offset) of around 1300-2000ms on both, and increase your Scene Buffering Time by the same amount (so if it's at 700ms and you added 1300, set SBT to 2000. Added 2000, set it to 2700).

This will bring your webcam video and mic audio forward by the same delay time intrinsic to the Elgato.

The catch? If you play any on-system games (game capture, window capture, etc) or have any alerters, they are going to be 'ahead' of your webcam a/v at that point and you'll need to remove the buffer and sync offset compensation. There is no easy way to do this.

This is the reason people say not to buy USB capture devices, and opt for an internal capture card if possible, as internals tend to have very low capture latency.

Thanks for the reply

I've done some more testing this morning and i've made some slow progress

I've started without my webcam to make it easier

These are now my settings
MIC 1300
SBT 2000

Here is a short video

In the second video i've enabled my integrated camera and took a screen shot of the settings.

The third video i have enabled the audio settings on the cam (right click > settings ) and set it to the blue yeti with a 1300 offset

Aas you can see from the third video, i'm stuck with the settings. My voice and gameplay seem to be in sync now but my webcam is out. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated
