Using NVENC, right? Switch to OBS Studio if possible (this is the best solution), otherwise use a different encoder or roll back to 0.657b.

Frodo, What did you change? I have the same Audio Not Recording issue with OBS Studio after upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7. No clue what to do. Levels are normal when recording but nothing on playback.

Don't worry I found it under Output> Recording> Recording Format. I just hope it works.

I was using mp4 and would like to continue doing so. Could someone help me trouble shoot this? I was able to get an audio signal with "ts" but not happy with the quality. Did I maybe loose a driver with my windows upgrade or get a corrupted program file?

If you're having trouble playing back a file recorded by OBS, use a program like VLC or MPC-HC to play it back instead of Windows Media Player. This was probably just a simple playback issue but because the thread author posted it in the wrong forum I assumed it was caused by a different issue.

Ok I have Window Media Player and the new windows 10 Movies & TV on my computer and would like to make sure when I share a video others can use these players also. OBS videos that I recorded last week all play fine now but new videos recorded since updating windows have no audio so there must have been a change within OBS or the supporting drivers. Would there be any helpful information in the log file?

Please try to play the file back with a program like VLC or MPC-HC, not Windows Media Player or Movies & TV.

Sapiens, I was able to download VLC and the mp4 files will play on VLC but the audio level is about half of what it is normally and the quality seems lower as well. I can't expect my customers to download a new media player just to view my video's so what can I do to make a OBS mp4 video file play on Windows Media Player or Movies & TV?

Thanks, Clipper

Wouldn't uploading the videos to a site like YouTube would make more sense for sharing than distributing the actual video files? We aren't really responsible for WMP's mediocrity, if the files play back in a decent media player then the files themselves are fine.

Sapiens, Yes I also use YouTube but need the flexibility of sending files the way the customer requires them.

I just thought that there are a bunch of failures recorded in the log file that I posted and maybe you could interpret that for me as the OBS mp4 videos that I made last week still play fine and now the new OBS mp4 video's have no audio playback so the problem does not seem to be the media player but rather the new videos that I am trying to record with OBS. I do not have enough experience to diagnose this myself. Please Help. If you need more info I will try to provide for you. Thanks.
