Question / Help Audio Not Recording on Mac (Mac Mojava; OBS 22.0.3)

I Setup a Multi-output Device to get Mac audio recorded - video mp4 is consistently produced with no audio - have not been able to debug this

Ok, I was looking at this thread:

[OS X]Capture audio with iShowU Audio Capture

And I noticed this down in the documentation:

Q: Why does my video have no sound?

A: You opened the program you intended to record before switching to the Multi-Output Device. The device will only capture audio from any program opened after switching.

Maybe that's it?

Quite possible. Lots of apps choose their output device when they open and don't necessarily change them when new devices become available. Many others have no way of setting their own output device-- they just use the default, but they may set themselves to what the default was *when you opened the app*.

Yes! - that turned out to be the issue - I was doing this 1) Open browser 2) Update mac audio settings 3) OBS capture; I should have done 1) Update mac audio settings 2) Open browser 3) OBS capture
