Downloaded today the new Version 18.0 of OBS Studio, and was happy to see Audio monitoring in the release notes.
When trying out with a mp4 video file through media source, i get noise/crackle when playing the video file. When i set Monitor only its hearable. When i set it to Monitor and Output, the crackle/noise is on the monitor side, but not on the stream side (output).

As workaround before Audio Monitoring was released i used Browser source and used local file. Through this way the file is playing normally without noise/cracks.
