Audio monitoring has a variable delay (1-6 seconds) unless the monitoring device is changed

Hi,

For the longest time I have been using "Output desktop audio (DirectSound)" for my capture card to output the audio to myself and the resulting recorded video file. Recently I've changed it to "Capture audio only" and instead enabled monitoring for the capture card audio device to achieve the same effect.

This works.. right until it doesn't. It doesn't seem to be the ordinary "audio desyncs over time" issue that pops up frequently around the forum, but rather actually that upon changing profile, scene collection or merely just restarting OBS, the audio being fed to the monitoring device is delayed right out of the gate by a seemingly random amount in between 1-6 seconds(probably a bigger range than that, but just what I have observed from doing it a couple of times).

The fix? Going into the OBS settings and changing the monitoring device to a different one, and then back to the one I want to use. It'll work fine without any noticeable desync right until I either change the profile, scene collection or restart OBS. As someone that happens to do that rather frequently and multiple times a day, having to do that weird workaround every time gets rather bothersome.

Anyone with similar experiences or perhaps someone that has a clue as to what could be happening?

Log file from where I trigger this issue as well as fix it temporarily by changing the monitoring device to a different one and back the original: https://obsproject.com/logs/AkeKz9rRiXKojDyA
