Hello, I received my capture card today, the image is working, so is the sound when recording, but the monitoring dosn't work, i did everything right but nothing works
that's also weird cause if i just set the capture card as a source in voicemeeter it works
It's Hardware Input 2 here on the Voicemeeter screenshot

Any ideas ?

You have the Monitor Off for all but one source. Are you saying that that one source doesn't work either?

How does B1 get from VM to OBS? You haven't shown that.

And once you do have that, you'll probably have a feedback loop between VM and OBS. Un-click some of the routing buttons in VM.

B1 is Virtual Input 1 right ?
Well, it dosn't go to OBS, since i don't need to record my pc audio, I only need to hear my game's audio via it, but tell me if i misunderstood
And what buttons should i unclick ? I don't know what are routing buttons

Each of those buttons makes a connection between an input and an output. Just like a professional analog console has next to its faders:

Do you have a full-system diagram of what you want to happen? You lost me between that and the original, and the lack of detail in general.

Alright I understand now, thanks

Oh yeah sorry, I wasn't very clear

So basically, I have my switch plugged in the capture card, to, for example, stream my game to friends on discord, but there is no sound, since audio monitoring dosn't work

I want to hear my game audio through my speakers, so I can hear my game, and also stream on discord with sound, since audio monitoring will be picked up by discord while screensharing my OBS window
Is that better ?

stream...no sound, since audio monitoring dosn't work
That still doesn't make sense. Stream and Monitor are completely different things.

How does Discord actually work? What you're describing is not like Zoom, Jitsi, or any other conference that I've seen. They don't use OBS's stream either, but you keep using that word.

Here's what I came up with at first for a potential solution, taking the word "stream" to mean what the rest of us take it to mean:
Code:
                                                                            +-----------+
                            +---------------+                       +------>| Speakers  |
                            |               | Physical Output       |       +-----------+
+-----------+      HW input |               |-----------------------+
| Switch    |-------------->| VoiceMeeter   |
+-----------+               |               | Virtual Output        Mic/Aux +-------+       +-----------------------------------+
                            |               |------------------------------>| OBS   |------>| YouTube, Facebook, Discord, etc.  |
                            +---------------+                               +-------+       +-----------------------------------+
This doesn't use OBS's Monitor at all, by the way. Your local speakers are fed directly from VM.

Basically, if you stream a window, it'll capture that window's sound, that's why I need audio monitoring to work.
So I could stream OBS' preview in fullscreen and discord will take the audio monitoring from OBS you see ?

This is actually what i'm doing, in the VM screenshot, except for the "Virtual Output" line
I could stream with OBS to YouTube, Facebook and all, but couldn't on discord since that would mean setting my microphone to the virtual output, so I couldn't talk
I don't think i'm explaining it very well, i'm very sorry

Maybe? If I understand you correctly, then Discord *can't* work because OBS's projectors and virtual camera are all silent. The Monitor is something different, designed to drive a physical output, or a virtual one if it appears in the same list and behaves the same way.

There's been several requests in several different places, some of which were acknowledged by the devs, to add sound to the projectors or the virtual camera or both, but it appears to me that *all* audio-related changes are being held off until they can rewrite the entire audio system. And that's still in the early stages.

See if you can get Discord to capture a mic, not the sound from a window. Once you have that, you can connect it to a virtual mic, fed from VoiceMeeter.
