Audio missing from my video tapes when recording to PC

Hi
Using Win 10 and connected to my Sony Hi-8 camera to copy tapes to my PC.
The video is fine but I can not receive any audio. I have checked the camera and tapes with my TV and all was fine with both.
The camera uses a RCA & S-Video cable to
USB 2.0 Audio/Video Converter, VHS to Digital Converter, Video Capture Card

any, thoughts?

Under the properties for your video capture device, have you checked "use custom audio device" then choose the microphone for your digital converter in the list below.
