Question / Help Audio Issues

Just a quick note before i say my problem: I'm not tech savvy. in any way. sorry :P

My OBS says it's recording my audio ( I think? The green bar for my mic goes up and down when I talk so i'm taking that as a sign ) but when i play it back on Media Player ( it always used to work for the oldschool OBS so i have no reason to think it won't now ) it's soundless. Everything else records fine, it's just the sound :P Like, it doesn't record for the desktop audio either, but it says that's working fine too...

Help would be greatly appreciated, because i've searched and there's been nothing helpful :P

i'm using the current 2016 version of OBS if that helps any.

Mine did the same thing, I don't think it's your OBS. I had no audio in media player, and then I switched to VLC media player and that I could hear the audio. So, try using something other that what you're using to play the video.

Windows media player has a 15+ year history of having bad media format support.
VLC is recommended.
