Question / Help Audio issues

I'm not really experienced with OBS in general, I just want to have it to record game clips/memes or stream gameplay sometimes

I am having an issue where my desktop audio and mic audio bars are lighting up like the program is hearing the audio, but upon playing back my recordings and listening to my stream I can't hear either.

Feel free to call me a straight up idiot, I'm not even sure if I'm posting this thread properly, and I surely hope someone can help me. e.e

Edit > Advanced Audio Properties

OBS can record multiple audio tracks. Most players can only play back one at a time-- to hear them all at once you usually need to open in an editor.

So there are a few possibilities here:

1) You're not recording all the audio you want to, because the devices you want to record are assigned to a track you are not recording. Check your output settings to see which audio tracks are selected for recording.

2) You have recorded that sound, but it's on a different track. Use a player like VLC that lets you select one of multiple audio tracks during playback to see if you have multiple audio tracks in your recordings, and if those tracks include your missing audio.
