I recently started streaming again on Twitch a few days ago after taking a mental health break back in September, and viewers have been telling me that there is no sound, or to be more accurate, there's tiny pops of sound every 10 seconds or so. I reviewed the footage of the stream and found I was getting sound at the quality setting "720p (Source)". However it was discovered that by using the quality setting "480p" and "720p", I was able to replicate the problem my viewers were having. After various combinations of settings of the Quicksync encoder, I found no solution. Using x264 gave me audio and video, but also audio and video issues.
I had recently updated to the latest version of OBS (24.0.3) too, was delighted about the custom browser source stuff, but this problem was racking my brain. I tried reinstalling sound drivers, video drivers and nothing worked. I even tried reinstalling iTunes thinking it was a CoreAudio issue. Nothing.
I thought it was on Twitch's end, but then I tried streaming to YouTube. The quality of the stream refused to go higher than 360p, meaning 480p and 720p were unavailable. I even tried using the Streamlabs OBS, and the same problem occurred. So eventually, I rolled back version by version, and found that every version after 23.2.1 had the same problem. Reinstalling 23.2.1 fixed everything with the stream sound.
So then I checked the logfiles, which I included, one for 24.0.3, and the other for 23.2.1.
Already I noticed that 24.0.3 was showing "NV12 texture support not available", and 23.2.1 was showing "NV12 texture support enabled", but I'm not sure this is relevant.
Finally, I'd like to point out that I use Quicksync to stream as x264 puts significant strain on my resources, especially when using a capture card. Any time I tried to use x264 resulted in garbled video or extreme audio de-sync. Also, I stream using a laptop with an integrated graphics card, and have been doing so for the past 6-7 years. I'm hoping not to have to upgrade to a desktop because what I have at the moment works for me and my viewers.
Would love to use the latest version of your software with my setup but as it stands, it doesn't work for me.
