Question / Help Audio issues with indicator and sync

I am having an issue with the audio indicator on the OBS console thing. I can see the green levels go up in response to my voice but that only happens after 5 seconds after I've spoken. Just yesterday it was synced and I could see the levels change at the very moment I spoke.
I saw some people say change the Scene Buffering Time to something higher but the default, at 700, has been working for a long time for me.
I am stumped.

I ask for help, humbly.
Thank you.

Also, I added in the most recent log, the only thing I've changed since then is setting the audio encoding format back to 48khz, which I've been using for awhile, The last log was just a testing stage.

Did you test this by recording to file to see if it's off? Sometimes the mic meter can be deceiving. Try using "Use Mic QPC timestamps" in advanced, and for that you may indeed have to increase the scene buffering if it cuts out or anything

Thanks for taking your time to help Jim.

However, when I do output it to a file... I'm getting a strange difference. When I speak into the mic and time different tasks, I do the tasks before I say "start". There is also a peculiar issue that I'm having as well, I'm having extremely bad mic quality now. I am using the Blue Yeti and I had crystal clear sound. It now sounds really muffled and harsh.

If the sound timing is off from my voice, in a different manner than indicated... I'm not sure if changing the Scene buffer will help much?

I still don't exactly know why i'm having this issue out of the blue, when it's been working perfectly for the last few months.

Edit: I began playing around with having "Use Mic QPC timestamps" on and trying out different Scene Buffering Times and putting it either lower or higher results in the audio cutting out just randomly.

Edit 2: I did a system restore in order to rule out any software bugs and so far it seems to have produced a "better" solution. The timings are back and I can see the meter go up and down as it pleases. However, the audio is now spiking. Even if I speak quietly. All my settings are still the same. It went to normal only "once" during a preview that I tried to do and the audio levels looked exactly the same as it did when it was working perfectly. Now it just blasts the audio everywhere.

Not sure about the blasting audio, you could probably just turn down the volume I suppose. Maybe that's how it's set in windows control panel? You didn't increase mic boost in audio settings did you?

I found the solution. The audio levels were all perfect, even in the control settings. I unplugged the mic and uninstalled the drivers and just plugged it back in, then it went better. It was a bit odd how things developed to where that was, since all the settings were perfect.

It was also odd that I needed to do a system restore, since I didn't install anything since the last time I stream.

Anyway, I appreciate your effort Jim. Keep helping people out. :)

Sorry I wasn't more help originally and that you had to revert to an earlier system restore, though the restore working was very interesting.
