Question / Help Audio Issues - Can hear In-game and Mic Audio through my Headset

Hello,

I have successfully set up microphone and desktop audio output in my stream, however I hear all of it through my headset as well, so when I speak I'm instantly listening to myself speak. I've turned it to "Monitor Off" in the mixer options, I have the stream muted so I know it's coming through OBS. And when I mute OBS in my Windows Volume Mixer in the bottom right of my PC it mutes me from my headset but also mutes my audio to the stream. I've tried everything and spent hours on this now and I seriously can't figure out what could be going wrong besides perhaps it's a bug. I'm on the latest version of OBS.

Select the new / current microphone / audio you have.

I do have the microphone set correctly there. The problem is that I can hear myself through my headset. The only thing that works is to mute OBS in volume mixer in Windows bar, but then my stream goes silent which makes absolutely no sense to me. I'm just trying to mute OBS not disable the audio I don't get why that would happen it seems like it shouldn't.

Windows echoes the mic to the headphone, if it detects a headset (mic+headphone combination):

This is in the Recording tab of the Windows System sounds, the properties of the headset device. You can configure echoing the corresponding mic to the headset. In the screenshot the muted device. Since I don't know the language of your system, I don't know the exact tab you will find the setting.
The first screenshot is for a USB device. The second screenshot is for the omnipresent Realtek HD Audio.
