My mic always makes a lot of background noise when I talk. I’ve tried using the filters but every time I speak it makes noises. I’ve heard it could be mice but it’s brand new so I find that unlikely

Unless you spend thousands on a top quality mic, they all make noise. Generally the cheaper the mic the more noise (just noise from the mic itself). Depending on the cardioid pattern of the mic and how you have it set up could determine what noise you're picking up. To learn about microphones I do recommend a YouTube channel called "Booth Junkie". He does mic comparisons and fully explains microphones in plain English. You'll also get noise from the 3.5mm jack on the front or rear interface. Noise does reduce when you get into USB mics, then get's more quiet with XLR.

Make sure (in Advance Audio Properties) You have "Monitor Off" for Audio Monitoring. If you're wearing a headset microphone, turn down the volume via windows to about 10. The sound from your headphone will bleed back into your mic. You mic setting via windows should be maxed (without boost), and adjust via mixer in OBS.

Painstakingly, I have XBOX disabled.
Contact Microsoft for Microsoft questions, lol. Oddly enough if you poke around long enough in their forums a little chat dialog box does pop up where you can enter a tech support chat.

This forum is for OBS streaming/recording software. You might want to download it and try it out.
