Question / Help Audio Interface with multiple Line input help!

Hello there! I'm trying to figure out an audio solution and I need some help.

The interface I use is the Steinberg UR28M and I'm on Windows 10.

The basic setup I have is 2 mics in line inputs 1 and 2. Line input 3/4 is connected to my turntable. OBS has no problem recording the mics in 1 and 2 but there doesn't seem to be any way to get line 3/4 to record in OBS. I am able to monitor these lines no problem so I know they are picking up a strong audio signal - the turntable has a built in preamp so the levels are great.

I'm guessing I would need to use some kind of third party software to get these additional inputs into OBS, so I've been trying to figure it out on my own but haven't been able to find a similar enough solution.

I've tried virtual audio cable and voicemeeter with no success, though they are a bit complicated and I'm unsure if I explored all solutions via these programs.

Additionally, I can't seem to get ANY program to record from these lines, not just OBS. If anyone has any ideas, or understands the programs I have tried previously well enough to know what I would need to do, please let me know!

Thanks!

As far as I know the standard Windows sound API will only let you get one stereo pair from a USB audio interface. To get the other pair you'd probably need to be using the ASIO drivers. OBS doesn't use them, I don't know if you'd be able to use them to get the additional channels into Voicemeeter.

There may also be settings in the UR28M drivers you can change but I'm assuming you've already tried that.

Yeah that's the conclusion I've drawn. I downloaded Asio4All along with an asio bridge but I can't seem to get that working either. Guess I'll keep messing around with it for now.

Sadly still looking for a solution to this, if any of you smart people out there have any ideas let me know!

you could try using reaper before OBS, you can add processing and then send a stereo master to OBS. We're looking at similar work around's here.
