Question / Help Audio Interface - only 2 first channels

Hey guys,

Hoping someone might be able to help me out with this. I've got OBS picking up in very fine quality the first 2 channels of my Tascam US-2000 16-channel interface. I want it to pick up channels 7 & 8, which are the cleanest channels. But instead when using the TASCAM Us-2000 as a Desktop Audio Device (use input device for desktop audio) OR a Microphone/Auxillary device, It only receives data from channels 1 & 2.

Any suggestions? Thanks a lot guys

I unfortunately am somewhat confused at specifically what you're asking. I've never heard of this device before so you may have to explain what's going on a bit.

The device is a usb analog/digital convertor box. I can plug in a high end microphone, power it, and access the microphone input as "Tascam US-2000" Input Device or as Microphone/Auxiliary Audio device within OBS.

so when I select "Tascam US-2000" as my Auxiliary audio device, it picks up what's in channels 1 and 2. However, this interface features MANY audio inputs, and i'd like to use channels 7 & 8 instead. But when I plug the microphone into channel 7, OBS cannot pick it up.

In programs like Ableton Live I can select which input channels i'd like to use.

are there any work arounds for this? Am I looking at needing some type of driver? I'd really like to use channels other than 1-2 in this multi-channel audio interface (A/D convertor)

Without seeing it directly, I'm not entirely sure unfortunately.

Hi Zoddie... I have a tascam US-600 and am also experiencing technical difficulties of a somewhat related type.. I would not mind discussing this and possibly collaborating with the goal of finding a solution. If you look at my post titled "JACK Router", you will see my issue. Contact me if interested.

thanks for responses guys,

I am looking at the software recommended by DarkFilter to see if that resolves my issue. i'll come back when I can restart my computer and give it a proper looking at.

@DarkFilter

it was indeed worth a look. This program can detect sound levels from my Tascam US-2000 8th channel input according to the "ASIO IN" diagram on the gui. Whenever i switch the live sound feed to a channels 1-8, this program can detect the sound at either channel just fine.

However, using OBS I have tried selecting "Asio bridge input" for desktop audio and aux microphone, and although the sound is being detected by ASIO Bridge, OBS cannot seem to pick it up from Asio Bridge program in neither input nor output. I will toy with this program a little more before looking onto other options.
