Audio input capture stopped working

I have been digitizing some old family vhs tapes and everything was working just fine until I tried capturing more today. The audio input capture stopped recording sound. I deleted the capture device and added a new one with no such luck. I then tried a tape I had previously converted and now it wont pick up its audio either. I am using the DIGITNOW USB Audio Video Capture Card off of amazon. I am new to obs and any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are you using the Default device selection? That defers the actual choice of device to the operating system, which can change it at any time without warning. Usually, that's in response to you plugging something in or unplugging it, or something with audio functions "waking up" or "going to sleep", which it can't tell the difference.

That's a very common reason for things to just suddenly stop working. And when you re-add it, it still doesn't work for the same reason. "Default" is still pointing to a different device.

ALWAYS chose a specific device in OBS's settings. NEVER use Default. Default is good to prove that a fresh installation works, but for everything else, it's a liability. A ticking time bomb.
