Question / Help Audio from recordings has an echo (Help Pls)

It doesn't matter what I'm recording, there's an echo that happens when I play them back. I've tried a different media player as well as messing with some obs settings that other reddit threads suggested, but nothing changed the echo and at that point I was probably just digging a deeper grave for my situation because I know very little about recording with obs and audio at that. If someone can help me understand what's going on I'd appreciate it! :)
some context:
My desktop audio device is set to "Speakers(Hyperx Cloud Flight Wireless Headset)"
Channel is set to "Stereo" / Sample Rate set at 48khz / using NVENC Encoder / Bit Rate set at 64

Is your headset running in surround mode?
No, I don't think my headset offers surround sound. The echo couldn't be coming from a microphone picking up audio either because I don't use my headset mic and the one I do use isn't set up in my obs

I've messed around with changing my desktop audio device as well as tried a couple different media players, nothing really happened there. The headset I'm using is the only one I have, if you meant trying other headsets. What's so bad about mp4 btw? And what would be the ideal format to use while recording gameplay?
